SEE you 10/18 7:00 JATC South!
Dear Participants,
Thank you for being a part of the Salt Lake Livestock program. Our show will be held at the Bastian Agricultural Center (BAC) (formerly known as the Salt Lake Equestrian Center) August 9th-12th (see calendar for specifics).
We have a website SLCojrlivestock.com. Please check there for information and subscribe and like our FaceBook page for frequent updates.
We are excited to announce that we are a state sanctioned show. Our rules are closely aligned to the state rules so not much changes with regards to rules or how the show will run.
As we begin the year I would like to remind you of some things and express that the Code of Conduct will be strictly adhered to with the coming show season, this includes and is not limited to the upcoming taggings, clinics and show.
Code of Conduct - All 4-H and FFA members, family members, and associates will exhibit good sportsmanship at all times. Every exhibitor, family member and associate of exhibitor, is required to follow the Utah 4-H and Utah FFA Code of Conduct at any Utah Junior Livestock Association sponsored event. Here are a few points form the Code of Conduct that we want to remind you:
Be aware that abuse of animals or people of any kind by any member or associate will be cause for disqualification of the 4-H or FFA exhibitor. If any participant, volunteer, or associate violates the Code of Conduct or jeopardizes the safe environment of any Utah Junior Livestock Association sponsored activity or event, that individual will be subject to suspension from further Utah Junior Livestock Association activities. A suspension is appropriate if there are multiple written statements regarding the aforementioned behaviors, and if measures have been taken to correct the behavior with no change. Each situation is evaluated individually and will be discussed with county 4-H and FFA faculty and staff as appropriate to determine when the suspension can or will be lifted. If you are found in violation of the code of conduct and removed from the premises you will not be allowed back through the next calendar year.
Alcohol is not allowed on University property.
Auction changes
You will declare if you choose to sell your animal in the auction on Saturday. A form will be available for exhibitors to declare their animal for the sale. The animal will NOT be automatically entered into the auction. The declaration is due Friday by 9:00 pm

****This differs from our previous rules and procedures regarding the sale of animals at the auction. Please note this change.

Tagging dates
All animals preparing for the SLCo Junior Livestock show must be tagged with a state approved tag by preset state dates. To assist with this we will be available for tagging on two dates and additional dates by appointment only.
Bastian Agricultural Center (BAC). Tagging will be next to the racetrack office on the North section of the BAC.
Additional times are by appointment only on March 7, April 4th, May 9rd. If you desire one of these times please contact VP Scott Taggart at 801-209-0025, otherwise we will see you on April 29 or May 20. If you do not attend one of the taggings or are located out of county you must contact your representatives to tag your animals. There will be NO exceptions, you will not show if your animal is not properly tagged and verified.
Tagging procedures:
4-H members must be registered on z-suites prior to tagging. Proof will be required, a screenshot of z-suites will work as proof.
When you approach the tagging location please leave your animals in the trailer/crates/vehicle. After you have filled out appropriate paperwork and paid for your tags a representative will come to your animal and tag them. It is vitally important for record keeping of the state tags that you adhere to the procedures.
